Week #81

Had a good week as usual, we found 2 new investigators, one has an appointment tonight the other fell through unfortunately, but we’ll see if we can't get back in contact with her, both of them are young moms and the investigators left for us when we came in were also 2 young moms, also not in great contact with, I will say one pain here in Japan is that their work schedules  are the devil, in America if we just tell our boss we want to go to church on Sunday they respect you for it and let you go but here they don't understand the reason, but we’ll pray for the best.
My new comp is good, he and my last comp are the closest to my size in comps I've had, thankfully, he's willing to do anything diet wise or workout wise that I am so we're going to get yolked.
It's really true what you say about conversion, as much as the gospel is undeniable because of how much it makes sense just knowing that isn't enough, we really have to let ourselves be converted in our hearts before my mission all I felt really was that it was true but it did little to my heart it's just the way it was I thought, but on my mission I experienced the impact of letting your self be changed, I still like allot of the things I did, my personality didn't change but why I am here definitely did. After that when the gospel makes more and more sense to me it just adds to the testimony, but really the conversion is more like what are you willing to do for the Lord, and less whether or not you know or believe it's true, if you wouldn't do something hard or painful just because you love the Lord, then make it a goal, I know I still let my self be lazy sometimes that's why conversion is truly an ongoing process. The question isn't do I know it's true it's what will I do because I know it's true.

The prospect of letting myself go into the Lords hands has been a scary thought to me, because I don't know exactly where I'll go, but the idea has slowly become more open to me as I go along.
Anyway, on less serious topics the weathers been great here and no more suits so I'm happy.
And if you would like a little better guide to Okinawa than me, there is a member who is American down there named brother Christensen way good friend of the missionaries, I'll forward you an email from him they just had another baby.
I also sent mom an email about the Mother's Day Skype call it's two weeks off but they want us to get it set up.
Any way love you all

Week #80

Happy to hear you had a good time there in Cali, and does that mean you did good at golf that day know a little how the people here feel when a miss. Said a bunch of random gospel words. What's a sand bagel and is 1 under par good?
As for my week, or week and a half, we had allot of conferences, mostly pertaining to the iPads were now sporting. Lots of great training but man that much travels expensive especially from Yanai and was already just scraping by this month, one that note, thought when I looked at my account before I had more money in it, but I guess I was wrong or my cards being weird but I may need some cash to get my bike payed for, it's around 60bucks for that part unfortunately.
Sorry I'm a pain in the butt sometimes.

As for other things we found a few people that look they have good potential and we have allot more direction now for the area, which is allot better than were we started with no info at all.
It's getting warmer here and suit season is almost over, safe to say I'm excited for that prospect.

Anyway that's most of the interesting things that have gone down I'll have pics and stuff for sure next week cuz I have the iPad now, sorry for the wait, I'll send some that I have from last transfer of our P-day there.

Love you

Week #79

Thanks for the b-day money I got some new p-day clothes but unfortunately I'm going to use it for more mundane things at least a bit my bike is dyeing on me and I need to repair it, it may not cost anything though so crossing my fingers, then the camera stuff, but that’s what I get I guess, I’ll try to be better about taking care of my stuff.

as far as things here go, my new area is Yanai only like an hour train ride from my last, same zone, but man this place is beautiful it’s one of the most rural places in the miss and there are big mountains right next to us and all around way green and stuff, we got white washed in, meaning both elders left and me and a new one came in, so were starting with little to know knowledge, but there is one elder left from the other two so we get a little info from him.

my new comp is elder smith, transfer 4 actually my last comps MTC comp. got to meet some of the members from tokuyama again cuz they were up for conference which was a lot of fun. Taking some bigger steps now to get the rest of the fat off and get yoked, for my last 3 transfers, so ganbarimasu.
Anyway I’ll give you a little more when there’s more going on, ruv you buckets,
Matane

Week #78

I'd send you tons of pics if I could my camera charger has gone missing, it’s ridiculous the amount of camera issues I've had out here and I swear I’m not being particularly irresponsible or anything it just not meant to be. I can get hold of another cord for like 10 bucks but they have to order it so I’ll wait to see if I transfer or not. Sorry for starting off with the bad news, I'm supposed to be the optimistic one, on the bright side we do get iPads here soon so any pic I really need can be taken with that soon. Elder Ringwood actually talked to us as well alongside elder nelson about the iPads, I’ll look out for the talk,
on a brighter note, I reached my goal weight that I was going for at the beginning of my miss, of 230 lbs, right now I'm just under that, but I get here and realize now how much weight I’ve also lost in muscle mass so I have to drop the goal lower now probably to like 210 to 205 that probably what I've got left to go I think, but 20 lbs over weight is a far shot better than the 80 or 90 I started with.
I’ll have to try the thankfulness thing; it will be easier with the iPad but I’ll start in my planner for now.

This week was Barbara(all over the place) we had to get an MRI for my comps ankle it took going through 3 hospitals and me speaking and translating allot of Japanese way good practice for me though, many hours of weighting and such, but finally got it taken care of, my comp rolled his ankle about 4 months ago and it’s still swollen, and decided not to tell anyone till now, from the MRI we found out he has some cartilage damage and a partially torn ligament swelling is just cuz of the cartilage, sorry for the spelling the spell check doesn’t work on work on this computer and my spelling is worse than ever, any way after all this stuff we could get back to normal stuff, we had an Easter party on Saturday, lots of fun, got mild food poisoning on Sunday, was out for the day after church, den do day on Monday, in which my comp crashed his bike, partially hyper extending his knee (shaking my head at this point). And now finally we have transfer call p day. Were we having plans to go to a monkey zoo, and eat okonomiyaki which I will make for you when you’re here. I’ll tell you how transfers go when I know.
Love you soooooo much see you when I’m 20 (weird)
